My plan is to continue to read different genres of books. We are now beginning our fairy tale unit. Several children have commented on topics they would like to write about already. Most have mentioned non-fiction subjects such as sharks, whales, and turtles. I will continue to expose them to different types of books thru out the end of the year.
After I showed the class my final draft of my personal book it seems most of them then decided to write about someone in their family! I have a feeling that some may change but if so I will post the changes. I will be posting the children who have an asterisk beside their name.
Andrew = Andrew loves Sharks so this was an easy decision for him! (non-fiction)
*Jerry = Jerry wants to add to a story he began about his brother.
*Jacey = Jacey wants to write about going to the dentist.
*Samuel = Samuel began a story of him and his dad fishing and wants to finish it.
Mariana = Mariana wants to write about a princess. (fairy tale)
*Carson = Carson wants to write about going to his dad’s house.
*Ryan H. = Ryan wants to publish a story about his family riding horses.
Ryan B. = Ryan wants to write about his dogs.
Justice = Justice wants to write about his bunny.
Mae-Lyn = Mae-Lyn wants to write about a trip with her family.
Blake = Blake wants to write about his dad and his big truck.
Sage = Sage wants to write about camping out.
Mark = Mark is writing about playing with his brother and sister.
*Jaylie = Jaylie is writing a fairy tale with a “girl like Cinderella”.
Brianna = Brianna began a story about her mom and wants to add to it.
Nathaniel = Nathaniel wants to write about his cousin.
